Summer Reading Choice
Alright, so I have two options for summer reading this year. My school likes to give a book intended for girls and one for boys. For example:

Freshman have The Secret Life of Bees (for girls) and The Chosen (for boys).

Sophomores have Travels with Charley (for boys) and I Know Why the Cagebird Sings (for girls).

I typically don't go by the gender guidelines because they just started giving choices last year and I chose Travels with Charley instead of the "girls" book.

This year I have to choose between Uncle Tom's Cabin and The Jungle. Seeing as everyone I've talked to either hated both books or never read either, I'm stumped.

So I was wondering if anyone had read those books and had a suggestion for me to read?

Because I need to decide fast because school starts the end of July and goodness knows this is going to take forever (not the book, the stupid assignment that goes with it)

This is MY summer reading xP One of the choices is Uncle Tom's Cabin, and I haven't read that but I think I'm going to go with The Last of the Mohicans, I think, because we already have that.

End of JULY? Geez, and I thought my school started early (mid-August).

What's the assignment you have to do? I'm curious :3

I haven't looked at it since school got out 3 weeks ago, actually so I don't really remember it but, I think I have to do a dialectical journal.
